# Goals Module

> OKRs, goal tracking, and performance alignment.

### Overview

Goals covers OKRs and goal-tracking across the company, department, team, and individual levels,
plus 1:1 meetings, peer feedback, appreciations, and recognition. It links into HRMS for
performance-review integration and into Projects for project-level goals, and feeds the Reports
module.

### Where to find it

| Area | Route |
| - | - |
| Dashboard / health | `/goals`, `/goals/health` |
| Company / department / team / my goals | `/goals/company`, `/goals/departments`, `/goals?view=mine` |
| Quarterly / annual filters | `/goals?period=quarterly`, `/goals?period=annual` |
| OKRs / initiatives / KPIs | `/goals/okr`, `/goals/initiatives`, `/goals/kpi` |
| 1:1s / appreciations / feedback / check-ins | `/goals/one-on-one`, `/goals/appreciations`, `/goals/feedback`, `/goals/check-ins` |
| Reviews / recognition / leaderboards | `/goals/reviews`, `/goals/recognition`, `/goals/leaderboards` |
| Analytics / settings | `/goals/analytics`, `/goals/settings` |

### Core workflows

#### Create a goal

1. Start a new goal: set the **Title**, **Type**, **Owner**, and **Due date**.
2. Pick a **Metric to measure** progress against, optionally attach a **Milestone**, and set
   starting **Progress (%)**.
3. Optional: a **Description**, a **Parent goal** (to roll this goal up into a bigger one),
   linked **Projects**/**Tasks**, and known **Risks**.

#### Create an OKR

1. Set the **Objective**, choose a cadence (**Weekly · Monthly · Quarterly · Annual**), and a
   **Start**/**End date**.
2. Optionally attach a **Parent OKR** to align it with a higher-level objective.
3. Add one or more **Key Results** — the measurable outcomes that define whether the objective
   was hit.

#### Run 1:1s and feedback

* **1:1 Meetings** are host/participant-scoped — only the host, the participant, or an admin can
edit one, and only the host can delete it.
* **Peer Feedback** is visible only to the sender and recipient. **Appreciations** are visible to
  the whole workspace.

### Permissions

| Resource | Read | Create | Update / Delete |
| - | - | - | - |
| Goals / OKRs | All members | Any authenticated member | Owner/admin/manager (any); employee (own only) |
| Appreciations | Workspace-wide | Any authenticated member | Sender + admin |
| Peer feedback | Sender/recipient only | Any authenticated member | Sender only |
| 1:1 meetings | Host/participant | Any authenticated member | Host/participant/admin (host only can delete) |

### Known limitations

* Goal and OKR **Owner** is a real assignable field on creation, but the read-only ownership
display on individual goal/OKR detail pages hasn't been converted to the same real member
picker yet — that's a planned follow-up, not a bug you need to work around today.
