# Project Management Essentials

> Plan, track, and deliver client projects with tasks, milestones, and time tracking.

<p>Create a project from Work → Projects → New Project.</p>
<h3>Highlights</h3>

<ul>
  <li>Enter the project name, client, start date, target end date, and budget.</li>
  <li>Set visibility to Internal or Client-visible (shows in client portal).</li>

  <li>
    Inside a project, add tasks and assign them to team members with due dates, priorities, and
    estimated hours.
  </li>

  <li>Add milestones to mark key delivery dates.</li>
  <li>Drag tasks between status columns in Kanban view.</li>

  <li>
    Team members log time directly against project tasks using the timer icon, or log manually via
    Time → Log Time.
  </li>

  <li>
    Logged time feeds into the Profitability Dashboard (Finance → Project Profitability) which shows
    revenue vs cost and profit margin percentage.
  </li>

  <li>
    Enable Client Portal on the project to give clients read-only access to project status,
    milestones, and delivered files.
