Overview

Calendar is the workspace’s shared scheduling surface — a Month/Week/Day/Agenda view for events, with toggleable layers that overlay data from other modules (task due dates, project milestones, teammates’ events, and approved leave) on top of your own events. It reads from Tasks and Milestones (Work), Leave (HRMS), and shows a distinguishing color per teammate for the Team layer.

Where to find it

Core workflows

Create an event

  1. Open Calendar and start a new event. Title and Start date are required.
  2. Set Type — Meeting · Task · Holiday · Personal — plus an optional End date, All day toggle, Location (room or meeting link), and a free-text Description.
  3. Switch between Month, Week, Day, and Agenda views to see the same events at different granularities.

Overlay other modules with layers

  • Toggle Tasks to show task due dates alongside your events.
  • Toggle Milestones to show project milestone dates.
  • Toggle Team to see teammates’ events, color-coded per person.
  • Toggle Leave to see approved leave requests on the calendar.
  • Approved leave requests submitted in HRMS appear automatically on the Leave layer — there’s nothing separate to configure.

Permissions

Calendar is workspace-scoped and available to all active members. Layer data (tasks, milestones, leave) still respects the read permissions of the module it comes from.

Known limitations

  • Google Calendar sync is not built yet. The /calendar/sync route and the “Connect Google Calendar” card under Integrations are both placeholders — there is no working two-way (or one-way) sync between AmDital events and an external calendar today. Don’t rely on Calendar to reflect anything from Google Calendar or vice versa.
