Overview

Work is a meta-module bundling everything a team uses to plan and execute: a unified Inbox, Tasks (with board/list/timeline/calendar views), Projects (with sprints, milestones, Gantt timeline, budgets, and files), and a cross-project resource planner. It depends on Calendar for task/milestone dates, Time for timesheets and timers, Reports for project analytics, AI for insight generation, and Docs for project-level documentation.

Where to find it

Core workflows

Create a task

  1. Open Tasks and start a new task. Required: Title.
  2. Set Assignee (a real workspace member picker, or leave unassigned), Status (workspace’s configured statuses, defaulting to Backlog · To do · In progress · In review · QA · Done · Cancelled · Archived), Priority, and Type — all configurable per workspace.
  3. Optional: due/start dates, recurrence (daily/weekly/monthly/yearly), labels, a parent task (for sub-tasks), attachments, and Visibility — Public · Restricted members · Client visible · Internal only.
  4. Switch between Board, List, Timeline, and Calendar layouts on the Tasks page to work the same data differently.

Run a project

  1. Create a project from Projects — the creator becomes project lead.
  2. Inside a project: build the Sprints backlog, track Milestones, view the Timeline (Gantt), assign Team members and roles, and log Financials/Profitability.
  3. AI Insights (/projects/[id]/ai-insights) surfaces AI-assisted analysis for the project.
  4. Only the project lead or a workspace admin/owner can update project settings or add members; any workspace member can read project data.

Triage the Inbox

  • Filter by mentions, assigned to me, unread, starred, snoozed, or comments to work through notifications without leaving the Work module.

Permissions

Known limitations

  • Cross-project Sprints and Resource Planner views aggregate live project data — if a project has no sprints or members configured yet, those views will be empty rather than showing placeholder data.
